Armoured Cables
The armoured shield increases cable mechanical protection thus improves the performance, reliability, and safety of the cable core. The armoured cables are heavy, rigid and inflexible. For this reason, they are usually used straight and for underground laying. This metallic shield provides tensile strength during the cable laying operation and protects the conductors from physical impacts and wears after installation.
Constructed using Multi-core cables. Solid or stranded plain copper conductors, PVC insulated, Cores twisted, Extruded PVC bedding, galvanized steel wire armoured and PVC sheathed as per BS 6346, KS 04-194 standards.
Care should be taken during installations to avoid damages due to poor handling. Bending rules must be followed.

Key Features
The key features of the armoured cables include:
- Mechanical Protection: The armoured shield enhances mechanical protection, improving the cable’s performance, reliability, and safety.
- Rigid and Inflexible: Designed to be heavy, rigid, and inflexible, making them ideal for specific applications like underground laying.
- Tensile Strength: The metallic shield provides significant tensile strength during cable laying operations.
- Physical Impact Resistance: Protects conductors from physical impacts and wear after installation.
- Multi-Core Construction: Built using multi-core cables for enhanced functionality.
- Quality Materials:
- Solid or stranded plain copper conductors.
- PVC insulated cores.
- Twisted cores for added stability.
- Extruded PVC bedding.
- Galvanized steel wire armouring.
- PVC sheathing.
- Standards Compliance: Manufactured in accordance with BS 6346 and KS 04-194 standards, ensuring high quality and safety.
- Installation Care: Requires careful handling and adherence to bending rules during installation to avoid damage.
Applications
Armoured cables are designed to offer enhanced mechanical protection, performance, reliability, and safety, making them ideal for several applications:
- Underground Laying: Due to their heavy, rigid, and inflexible nature, armoured cables are well-suited for underground installations where they can withstand physical impacts and wear.
- High-Tensile Strength Applications: The metallic shield provides tensile strength, making these cables suitable for situations that require robust cable laying operations.
- Environments Prone to Physical Impacts: Armoured cables protect conductors from physical impacts, ensuring reliable performance in harsh conditions.
- Infrastructure Projects: Commonly used in infrastructure projects where the cables need to be laid straight and require long-term durability and safety.
